Spades is an American card game devised in the 1930s. Spades is played with a standard deck of 52 playing cards whose values range from 2 (the lowest) to A (the highest). The most prevalent version of 24/7 Spades is played with four players in a team format, with players across the table considered teammates. Spades is a trumps game, in which all spades are the finest cards and will defeat all other suits.
Each hand begins by dealing all 52 cards to the participants. The table then enters the bidding phase, during which players estimate the number of tricks they can take with their current hand. If you bid Blind Nil, you are required to bid 0 without seeing your cards. Bid at your own peril, because the compensation will be greater if you succeed, but the loss will be even greater if you fail. In order to obtain a positive result, teams must complete the total number of tricks they have bid on.
